The Florida Department of Health in Lee County (DOH-Lee) ensures that residents and visitors to parks and camps are provided with proper sewage disposal and adequate sanitary facilities and conditions. This is accomplished through inspection, permitting, and enforcement of environmental health standards at these facilities.

This program includes mobile home parks where the lots are not individually owned, lodging and recreational vehicle parks, and recreational camps. The objective of this program is to minimize the risk of injury and illness in this residential environment. The establishments that meet these criteria are licensed annually by DOH-Lee. DOH-Lee conducts routine inspections, plan reviews, educational programs, and enforcement actions.
