Assistant County Health Department Director

Arielle Ghanem currently serves as the Assistant County Health Department Director for the Florida Department of Health in Lee County, a role she has held since 2023. In this capacity, she oversees the Divisions of Communicable Diseases, WIC and Nutrition Services, Health Promotions, Environmental Health and Engineering, and Communications. Ms. Ghanem’s leadership supports strategic planning and program implementation.

Her career began with hands on epidemiological work and evolved through leadership roles. Throughout her tenure at the Florida Department of Health, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to operational excellence and staff development. Ms. Ghanem holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of South Florida (USF) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami. She completed the Florida Department of Health Public Health Executive Leadership program with USF College of Public Health in 2022.

Ms. Ghanem is dedicated to the mission of the Florida Department of Health. As a Florida native and public health advocate, she is proud to serve her community. Ms. Ghanem currently serves as the co-chair for the Lee County Injury Prevention Coalition.

Ms. Ghanem leads with empathy, integrity, and vision. Her collaborative approach, technical expertise, and strategic foresight make her a driving force in the field of public health.
