Community Health and Faith Fair

Fort Myers, Fla. - The Florida Department Health in Lee County (FDOH-Lee) in partnership with Lee Health and First Assembly Cornerstone will be hosting, “Community Faith and Wellness in Action Health Fair”, a community event to raise and promote public health awareness.
Health screenings will be available, free of charge, for all who attend. The health screening includes HIV/STDs screenings, immunizations, tobacco cessation, dental and vision, blood pressure, cholesterol, chronic disease, asthma, behavioral health, nutrition and much more. The event will also feature educational materials and resources and a food pantry. Free family-friendly entertainment and refreshments will be provided.

Faith Responds to AIDS (FRTA) is Florida’s statewide faith-based initiative. FRTA mobilizes churches and other faith-based organizations to fight against HIV/AIDS. The Florida Department of Health has partnered with faith leaders throughout Florida’s minority communities to perform HIV testing and education within the church as part of one of the newer initiatives of the “We Make the Change Campaign”.
