Lee County, Fla.—You can walk or you can run, but you don’t want to miss the Florida Department of Health in Lee County and Lee County Parks & Recreation’s 2016 Color Splash 5K1.0 at 7 a.m. Saturday, September 24.
This fun, family friendly 5K encompasses three laps within Lee County Park & Recreation’s beautiful Wa-Ke Hatchee Community Park. Registration and participation is FREE and limited to the first 350 registrants.
“No matter your pace, your mind and body will thank you for going outside and getting physical,” said Kevin Kirkwood, Health Promotion Education Manager. “Maintaining a healthy weight are equal parts diet and exercise. Incorporating a new healthy lifestyle activity begins with the first step.”
In addition to the Florida’s Healthiest Weight activity this event will also honor “World Heart Day 2016,” Lee County Emergency Medical Services responders will partner with Florida Department of Health in Lee County CPR instructors to demonstrate “hands only” CPR technique. Vendors will share fun ideas for active family fun and healthy eating.
