DOH-Lee Hosts Breastfeeding Event

Lee County, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Lee County (DOH-Lee) invites breastfeeding families to attend the Second Annual World Breastfeeding Week Social on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. – noon at:

Learn about breastfeeding, what families can do to support a breastfeeding mother, and what community partners do to support breastfeeding families in Lee County, Florida. The event will feature breastfeeding and health education, activities for kids, door prize drawings, and more.
Registration is not required.
Breastmilk is a fundamental source of nourishment and helps create a powerful bond between mother and child. Breastmilk contains antibodies, enzymes, and essential nutrients, and supports a baby’s physical development. Breastmilk also protects a baby’s immune system and helps fight against infections and diseases.
