Originally from New York, Debora Ithier graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the City University of New York. Among other rewarding positions that Debora held while in New York City, she spent time employed as a Communications Operator with the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
In 2003, Debora relocated to Lee County, Florida and began working for the Florida Department of Children and Families as a Child Protective Investigator. From 2005 to 2009, she worked at Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida, Inc. as the Site Coordinator for the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program.
Debora began her career at the Florida Department of Health in Lee County in 2010 as a Health Educator working on a health literacy project. From 2011 to 2013 she worked in the Healthy Start program as a Human Services Counselor. Later in 2013, Debora began to work in the Tobacco Prevention Program as a Health Education Program Consultant and eventually became the Program Manager. In her current role as Program Administrator for the Health Promotions and Wellness Department, she is responsible for providing oversight and direction for the Tobacco Prevention, Health Equity, Healthiest Weight Florida, Overdose Data to Action, and Maternal Child Health program.
