Early Detection

Detecting and treating cancer early is important. It can be the difference between life and death. 

The Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (BCCEDP) is here to help.

Services provided:

  • Breast and cervical cancer screenings, including mammograms, pap smears, and clinical breast exams, for one year.
  • Diagnostic exams, as needed.
  • Outreach and public education.

Who is eligible?

  • Women who are 50-64 years of age, and
  • Household income that is less than or equal to 200%of the federal poverty guidelines (see application), and
  • No health insurance to cover the cost of clinical breast exams, mammogram, or pap smear.

How to apply for the program:

 Submit your completed application or call 239-332-9535 for assistance.

What happens next?

Once your application has been submitted and processed, we will let you know if you qualify for no-cost services, and work with you to schedule appointments for breast and cervical cancer screenings, in addition to other tests for one year.

 

Cost and Insurance Information

  • If you are eligible, we will also pay for the services you receive. Treatment may be paid by Medicaid.
  • Early detection is the key to successful treatment.
