Fort Myers, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Lee County’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program has a free education program scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 19, 2015 at the Community Cooperative, 3429 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. The program is designed for women ages 50-64 with no insurance to increase knowledge about breast, cervical and human papillomavirus (HPV) cancers.

“Women between the ages of 50 and 64 are at an increased risk for breast cancer,” said Marie Brown, certified community health worker for the Florida Department of Health in Lee County (DOH-Lee). “This program has already saved lives in Lee County, and we hope to save more!”

The free education program provides attendees with the opportunity to ask questions and receive information and assistance in getting screened.
