WIC Clinic Opens

By Diane Holm

August 21, 2015

Lee County, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Lee County’s Women Infant and Children services is pleased to announce the Monday opening of a temporary clinic in Bonita Springs at the Salvation Army. This clinic, located at 28331 S. Tamiami Trail, Unit B-8, will serve clients with appointments three days a week until a permanent location opens.

“This location is ideal for our clientele because it’s centrally located and on a bus route for easy access by all South Lee residents,” said Shannon McEwen, WIC manager. “The Salvation Army’s generosity will help a lot of families gain convenient access to nutritious food.”

Only clients with appointments will be seen at the temporary location. Anyone interested in seeing a WIC nutritionist should call 239-344-2000 for information and scheduling.

Services will continue as usual at all other locations. The WIC nutrition program helps qualified mothers and children under 5 obtain the nutritious food necessary to have a healthy start.
