Lori Riddle, RD, LD/N, CLC
WIC Nutrition Program Director

Lori Riddle has been working with the Florida Department of Health for over 30 years starting in 1984 after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics in 1984 from the University of Missouri – Columbia.

She started her career with DOH-Lee as a WIC nutritionist working in Lee, Hendry, and Glades counties. She left Florida and worked in community nutrition in California and then hospital dietetics in Washington DC, where she worked as a Coronary Care Unit dietitian, was promoted to Renal Dietitian, and ended her hospital experience as the hospital’s nutrition support dietitian.

After returning to Florida, she became Surveyor’s Minimum Qualification Tested and worked with the Agency for Healthcare Administration conducting Medicaid and Medicare surveys in Hospitals, Assisted Living Facilities and Dialysis Units for three years. She returned to WIC in 2002 and has been progressively promoted to more challenging positions ranging from WIC Quality Assurance and Nutrition Training Coordinator to her currently role as Nutrition Program Director overseeing the Lee County WIC Program in 2016.

She led the implementation of a 2015-2016 NACCHO grant for DOH-Lee to address disparities in breastfeeding through peer and professional support, which resulted in the creation of a county-wide breastfeeding coalition and provision of five scholarships for professional lactation education. This work resulted in co-authoring “Laying the Infrastructure for Breastfeeding Partnerships in Lee County” in the “NACCHO Voice” publication. She presented the grant’s success during NACCHO’s nation-wide webinar “Building Sustainable Projects through PSE Changes” in April 2017.

She is a proud graduate of the thirteenth class of the Florida Public health Leadership Institute of Florida, is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist and is a Certified Lactation Counselor.
